Volunteer Information

We always welcome new volunteers. Some of the ways you can help include:

Fostering Animals - All of our animals live in volunteer foster homes while they are in our care. Foster homes are very important because they provide the care that these animals desperately need. Foster families offer love, socialization, and stability for animals while they wait for their adoptive homes.

If you would prefer a short-term fostering situation, consider being a quarantine foster home. This involves housing a rat or other small animal for 3 weeks to ensure they are healthy before the animal goes into a foster home that has other rodents. Quarantine homes are extremely important in ensuring all of our rescue animals stay healthy. Please note that to be a quarantine foster home you can't have any other rodents in your home at that time.

If you would like to be a foster family but don't have any experience, please get in touch! We can help you learn everything you'll need to know before you foster your first animals. We will supply a cage if needed and we will cover any vet bills should the animal be sick and in need of vet care.

Fundraising - Once we're up and running we will have a number of fundraising activities. Volunteers are always needed to help raise money for the animals. We also welcome your ideas for fundraising campaigns!

Be A Critter Chauffeur - With our foster homes spread out across B.C. and the Northwest U.S. we often need rides for animals who are being adopted, moving to a new foster home or who are in need of a ride to see a vet. If you drive between two areas regularly, or if you are planning a road trip and you wouldn't mind a furry passenger please let us know!

Represent Us At Events - We hope to send representatives from Little Mischief Rescue to all sorts of animal events to raise awareness, meet people, and raise money. If you like to go to animal rescue events or pet shows, and would enjoy staffing a table or booth for our rescue we'd really appreciate it!
