Available Rats

If you are interested in adopting any of these rats, please email us at info@littlemischiefrescue.org

Please click on the picture to see the full size image!

We are asking for a minimum donation of $10 per rat for intact rats and a minimum donation of $25 for spayed/neutered rats (it costs us $50 to spay or neuter a rat!).

Please note: We don't adopt out single rats unless they go to a home that already has rats. Only in very rare circumstances do we get a rat in that hates other rats even after a neuter or spay. Most rats are extremely social animals and need the companionship that other rats provide.

You can also see the all of our rats on Petfinder - Click here to see our adoptable rats!

Ralphie

Super cute young male who was seen falling off a balcony by a couple walking by. They scooped him up and brought him to a local shelter. The shelter asked us for help with him so here he is, the latest member of the LMR family.

He's extremely shy, for the first few days he wouldn't even leave the top shelf of his cage so the wonderful foster made sure that he had his food and bedding right there. He is now making progress and is slowly coming around. Because he is still very scared, he sometimes bites. As he learns being handled, this should stop but it takes time and work.

He would do best in an experienced home where he'll have other ratties to play with (other males or spayed females)

Basil, Berlioz & Beckett

April 22, 2010 - Basil, Beckett & Berlioz are three young boys that only just arrived in rescue. They are part of a group of 16 that were surrendered to a local shelter. They are gorgeous blue agouti boys, 2 are standard ears, 1 is a dumbo (we will try to get better pics soon). They are quite young and are still in the stage where they zoom around. Yes they almost look identical but please don't let that deter you - Rats all have very individual personalities and after a while it becomes very obvious as to who's who. They come running to the door for treats. One of the boys enjoys running/snoozing in his wheel.. Stayed tuned for more info & pics. The three are a little shy but they are starting to come around. One of them gives kisses.

Martha Stewrat

June 30 , 2010 - Older female rat who was seized by the RCMP as her previous owner (drug addict) was threatening to flush her down the toilet. She is now safe with us and will get the extra TLC and treatment for mites that she needs as it's obvious she wasn't well taken care of.

She is a beautiful very light colored Himi with standard ears. She is very curious and friendly. We would like to see her go to a home with other female rats.

Mouse & Nala

June 30, 2010 - Pair of adult females who came to us via a rescue up North. In their previous home they were fed nothing but pork and beans. They have dry and dirty coats but all things considered they are doing pretty well. Now with us they will get the proper diet/care, treatment for mites and lots of extra TLC that they need and deserve.

Both are a little shy but once they get to sniff you and get to know you, they quickly warm up to you and are ok with being held.

Mouse is a little black berk with standard ears, Nala is a blue agouti capped with standard ears.

Annie & babies

June 30, 2010 - Annie was abandoned in a back alley in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, BC along with a bunch of other ratties.

She gave birth at a local shelter on June 29, 2010, just days after she was found.

On June 30 the little family arrived at one of our fosters where they will get handled lots to make sure that they turn into social lovebugs.

Annie and babies will be ready to got to their new homes when the babies are 5 weeks old, so around August 3.

You can watch them grow up by visiting their picture album

The babies are now individually listed on Petfinder

Stevie & babies

June 30, 2010 - This little mommy rat and her babies were abandoned in a back alley in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, BC along with a bunch of other ratties.

She was found on June 28 but her babies were already there but still wee... so we expect that they were born around June 26/27.

Now in foster care they will get handled lots to make sure that they turn into social lovebugs.

They will be ready to got to their new homes when the babies are 5 weeks old, so around August 1.

Update July 28 - Unfortunately our fears came true and Stevie was already pregnant again as she was in with males still after she gave birth. She gave birth to another littler on July 26 so she won't be up for adoption until early September when her other litter is weaned. The babies from her first litter are now individually listed on Petfinder
