Available Rats
If you are interested in adopting any of these rats, please email us at info@littlemischiefrescue.org

We are asking for a minimum donation of $10 per rat for intact rats and a minimum donation of $32.50 for spayed/neutered rats (it costs us $65 to spay or neuter a rat!).
Please note: We don't adopt out single rats unless they go to a home that already has rats. Only in very rare circumstances do we get a rat in that hates other rats even after a neuter or spay. Most rats are extremely social animals and need the companionship that other rats provide.

Annie *ADOPTION PENDING*
June 30, 2010 - Annie was abandoned in a back alley in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, BC along with a bunch of other ratties.
She gave birth at a local shelter on June 29, 2010, just days after she was found.
On June 30 the little family arrived at one of our fosters where they will get handled lots to make sure that they turn into social lovebugs.
Annie's babies have now all been adopted, but she's still looking for a home! Please get in touch with us if you're interested in adopting her.
Stevie & Pipit *ADOPTION PENDING*
June 30, 2010 - This little mommy rat and her babies were abandoned in a back alley in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, BC along with a bunch of other ratties.
She was found on June 28 but her babies were already there but still wee... so we expect that they were born around June 26/27.
Now in foster care they will get handled lots to make sure that they turn into social lovebugs.
They will be ready to got to their new homes when the babies are 5 weeks old, so around August 1.
Update July 28, 2010- Unfortunately our fears came true and Stevie was already pregnant again as she was in with males still after she gave birth. She gave birth to another littler on July 26 so she won't be up for adoption until early September when her other litter is weaned.
Most of Stevie's babies were adopted. Stevie has to be adopted with her baby girl Pipit.
Harrison
Harrison is a friendly young adult male, about one year old. He came to us from Bellingham on March 14, 2011.
He's a social, curious, outgoing guy. He's beautiful too - a silver-black top ear Berkshire with flashy markings (little white star on his forehead, white lips, white extends up his sides)
Farley
Farley is the cutest juvenile boy rat you can imagine. He came to us on March 14, 2011. We were told he is 8 months old but he looks closer to 4 months old - he's quite small and still has that baby-faced look.
He's a very sweet little guy, playful and well socialized, a complete people-lover. Quite active too, as he's so young.
He's a black hooded boy with top ears.
Dazu & babies
On March 27, Little Mischief Rescue was contacted about an extremely urgent rescue situation. We were able to take in 15 rats: 3 females and a litter of newborn babies.
Dazu, the mother rat, is a very pretty young beige-capped girl with dark eyes and top ears. She's quite timid, but at this point we're not sure if this is because of maternal hormones. We'll know more after her babies are weaned.
In the LMR foster home Dazu immediately built a giant nest for her babies. She's a good little mommy.
The babies are now weaned and everybody is ready to go to their forever homes. Please visit our Petfinder page for the individual listings of all the babies.
Cambie
On March 27, Little Mischief Rescue was contacted about an extremely urgent rescue situation. We were able to take in 15 rats. Cambie is one of them.
Cambie is a very cute little blonde capped rat with top ears and beautiful dark eyes. She's a juvenile female, a few months old.
Cambie has been spayed.
UPDATE - May 1st: Cambie is fully recovered from her spay. She's a very gentle girl, timid and docile. She remains skittish about strange noises and it takes her a little while to warm up to strange people. She's shyer than her friend Caliana, but curious about people. In our foster homes we teach shy rats that human handling brings nice things - treats, petting, and time outside of the cage. Cambie is learning that handling is nice. She's pretty relaxed about handling now. She accepts it readily without any nipping like before. When sleepy, she likes to have her tiny face gently stroked.
Cambie is a sweet little girl and her attitude has improved so much in a short time. She needs an understanding adopter with previous rat experience who can accommodate her timid docile nature.
Caliana
On March 27, Little Mischief Rescue was contacted about an extremely urgent rescue situation. We were able to take in 15 rats. Caliana is one of them.
Caliana is a very cute little blonde capped rat with top ears and beautiful dark eyes. She's a juvenile female, a few months old.
Caliana has been spayed.
UPDATE - May 1st:
Caliana is fully recovered from her spay. She's a really charming little character! She remains skittish about strange noises and it takes her a little while to warm up to strange people. But she's soooo curious! She wants to know more about human beings. In our foster homes we teach shy rats that human handling brings nice things - treats, petting, and time outside of the cage. Caliana is a fast learner. She no longer nips out of fear. When she comes to investigate, she does tend to mouth and nibble at your fingertips like a baby rat does. This habit is also being worked on.
She's a brave little girl and her attitude has improved so much in this short time. Updates to follow.
Galdalf
Gandalf is a very beautiful blue hooded male rat.
He was abandoned in an apartment when his owner skipped town, leaving her pets behind.
Gandalf is a gentle curious rat who's used to having people around. He's lonely and comes to the door of the cage to investigate visitors. But it looks like he wasn't handled much by his owner. He squirms when handled. So at this stage he needs an understanding home with previous rat experience. We're going to work on getting Gandalf used to being handled, and we expect good results with time.
Frodo & Samwise
Frodo and Samwise are a bonded pair of adult dumbo male rats who may be brothers. They were abandoned in an apartment when their owner skipped town, leaving her pets behind.
Frodo is a beige dumbo Berkshire (white belly marking). Samwise is a black rex dumbo Berkshire - possibly a patchwork rex (his fur is thin but it may fill in with better care).
Frodo and Sam are gentle rats who are used to having people around. But it looks like they weren't handled much by their owner. They squirm when handled. So at this stage they need an understanding home with previous rat experience. We're going to work on getting them used to being handled, and we expect good results with time.
Samwise was wheezy when he came in, but he's improving by leaps and bounds with antibiotic treatment and proper care.
